Momentum Fast Pt 3 Day 4
“Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge…” – 2 Peter 1:5 (NIV)
Devotional Thought:
Thriving is not a random result; it’s a disciplined decision. Spiritual growth doesn’t just happen because we’re busy or involved. It happens when we are intentional about becoming who God has called us to be. Peter challenges us in today’s scripture to “make every effort” to build on our faith. That means thriving requires spiritual effort, not just emotional excitement. It’s not enough to be inspired; we have to be committed to growing beyond where we are. This fast is about creating the space to grow on purpose. But growth also means stretching, pruning, and patience. It means embracing what’s uncomfortable because you know what God is cultivating in you is greater than where you’ve been. The truth is that many people want the fruit of thriving, but few want the formation it takes to get there. But God isn’t after quick results; He’s after lasting transformation. And that happens when you grow with intention.
Prayer Focus:
Ask the Lord to reveal areas in your life where growth is needed—spiritually, emotionally, or relationally. Reflect on your current habits and whether they are helping or hindering your spiritual development.
Action Steps:
Am I making room in my life for spiritual growth or just spiritual activity? What daily habits do I need to start or strengthen in this season? Where have I become spiritually passive instead of intentional?
