Momentum Fast Pt 3 Day 1
“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.” – Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)
Devotional Thought:
Thriving doesn’t start with what you produce; it starts with where you’re planted. Too often, we measure success by outward signs: progress, popularity, or provision. But real growth happens underground, in the hidden places where roots are formed.
In Jeremiah 17, God contrasts two types of people: those who trust in man and those who trust in Him. Those who place their full trust in the Lord are likened to trees planted by water: steady, nourished, unshaken by drought or heat. That’s what God desires for you in this fast: not temporary results but a permanent shift in your source.
Prayer Focus:
Identify the areas in your life where you've been relying on your own strength or others more than God. Confess those areas and verbally declare your trust in God as your source, and meditate on Jeremiah 17:7–8,
Action Steps:
As you begin this final week of fasting, ask yourself: What have I been leaning on to feel secure? Have I placed more trust in my plans than in God’s purpose? Am I rooted in His Word or reaching for empty affirmations? This fast is your chance to reroute your trust, Not in what you see, but in who you know. God is the stream. And when you’re connected to Him, you can thrive no matter what season you’re in.
